Me/Not Me

When I saw Sognatrice’s Me, Not Me photo essay/meme thingy, I liked it so much that I knew I had to steal borrow the idea and post a version of my own. And in fact, one of her comments on a photo was so exactly something I’d say (something I have said, in fact!) that I stole borrowed that comment too. Thanks for the inspiration, Sognatrice!

I hope some of you decide to steal borrow this idea as well, and if you do I hope you’ll let me know so I can come check it out. (In case you do though, I should also tell you that this was probably the most time-consuming post I’ve ever put together!)

So here, in photos, is a glimpse into my mind.

PS…While a few of the photos feature above are mine, I found most of these pics online through image searches. If someone reading this is the photographer and objects to me using one of these, please let me know (nicely!!) and I’ll be glad to either add a photo credit or substitute a different image. For those of you who are kind enough to let me borrow your images - thank you!!

This is my favorite meme you have done for a while! So fun! (and you always do fun memes.) ;)

I would not kick George OR Brad out of bed. Nope. Both me.

I agree that Spike was the one for Buffy…But I would take Angel off her hands any time, myself. He’s just hot.

    Yum! Mexican food.

That pic of sitting at the end of the dock…Yes. Very me.

    :)

This is so cool, Deb! And I loved Sognatrice’s one too… such a fab idea… must get my act together and do one some time too ;)
I could watch “A Fish called Wanda” over and over again but sheeesh, the one time I tried to watch “The English Patient”, I’m sorry but, um, sleep overcame me ;)
    Vx

    LOL YAY

if i had any idea how to set this up, i would do it too…

i TOTALLY agree with you AND amber….george is a MAN, and he’s top pick, but yet….i wouldn’t kick brad out of my house for eatin crackers, you know?

spike. yes. when i started watching the series and he came in with dru i would have thought you were nuts for suggesting the proposition, but by the end i sooooo wanted them to, i don’t know, get married and have little vampire babies.

meditating. dock. ocean. yup. and wasn’t that same margarita your profile pic, maybe a year or so ago?
(i had a virgin margarita at this hookah bar on the date that made me think of you. sooooo freaking good.)

I’m so honored that you borrowed this idea–the layout you did is great :) Also, yes, this takes a *long* time, but it’s so fun. I hope some of your readers decide to borrow as well!

This is a very fun meme!! I may have to borrow it at some point. I love your “polaroid” shots - we are quite similar in tastes too! :) Although - I do love sushi and beer - although not together!!

Um…were we separated at birth? So many of your ‘me’ are me toos!!!

  14. on 11 Jun 2007 at 2:20 pm Star

I can see it would be time consuming (but fun!) so I may have to try it at some point. Love George, just love him. Is there anyone who would go for those shoes?!

  15. on 11 Jun 2007 at 5:18 pm Morven

Fantastic! Although sadly it proves that we are not quite identical twins after all. I love sushi and Vegas and “The Notebook” made me cry.

What a great post! I love it!

I’m so glad y’all enjoyed this because, despite the fact that it took quite a while to set up, this ranks way up there as one of the most fun-for-me posts I’ve ever put together. :-)

I really hope a lot of you do it too. It’s worth the time it takes!

Responding to just a few specific things….

Vanessa, I managed to stay awake through The English Patient, but just barely. And my final verdict was “boring, whiny, and stupid” which no doubt makes me a total cretin, but there it is. ;-)

Bee, this sentence fragment - “…i had a virgin margarita at this hookah bar…” - shows why I adore you. How many people can say they had a virgin margarita in a hookah bar?? LOL!

Morv, even Cosmic Twins have to have their own quirks. ;-) Also, I would be willing to try sushi again with someone who could steer me toward things I might like. So far the only kinds I’ve ever had all included seaweed and I DETEST the taste of seaweed. I think it tastes like a dirty aquarium smells. Bleah.

Shaz!!! OMG, how in the world did you end up having a drink with The George?? That’s so cool. And so unfair considering that you’re clear on the other side of the globe while I live only about 30 miles (~50 km) away from George’s parents and have never yet gotten even a glimpse of him in person. Hmph.

Thank you so much to EVERYONE who commented and I must say again that I hope a LOT of you run with this idea. I’d love to see your versions.

I did this too, but my pictures aren’t as cool as yours, and I left out a few subjects…..like animals…duh.
